Testing Standards for Electrical Products

Depending on your target market, different safety regulations and testing standards apply to your electrical products. Here are some of the major requirements:

European Union (EU):

EN 60335 (under the Low Voltage Directive): Covers safety aspects of household and similar electrical appliances, including protection against electric shock, overheating, and fire.
United States (US):

UL 60335 (under CPSIA): Defines safety requirements for household electrical products, addressing electric shock, fire, mechanical risks, and more.
China:

GB 4706 (under CCC): National standard covering electrical safety for household and similar appliances, including mechanical hazards and fire resistance.

Testing Standards for Electronics

EN 301 Series (under the Radio Equipment Directive – RED): Covers frequency range, power output, modulation, spurious emissions, and other RF performance criteria.
